John D. Lovely, LPC-MHSP

As a Licensed Professional Counselor with a Mental Health Service Designation, I am dedicated to providing emotional and therapeutic support to you, the expert in your own life. My role is to support you in navigating your unique journey towards healing and self-discovery.

As a client-centered therapist, I believe in creating a warm, nonjudgmental, and empathetic space where you can explore your thoughts, feelings, and experiences at your own pace. I prioritize building a strong therapeutic alliance based on trust, respect, and collaboration, empowering you to take an active role in your therapy process.

I specialize in working with individuals facing a wide range of challenges, including anxiety, depression, trauma, relationship issues, LGBTQ+ concerns, adoption, and life transitions. Whether you're struggling with past traumas, navigating difficult life decisions, or simply seeking support and guidance, I am here to listen, validate, and accompany you on your path to healing.

I hold a Masters in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Adams State University (Alamosa, Colorado), and am licensed to practice therapy in Tennessee. With fifteen years of experience in the field, I have had the privilege of working with diverse clients in various cultural settings, including community mental health centers, residential facilities, outpatient programs, and educational institutions.

I utilize a variety of therapy modalities such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Ecotherapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, and Mindfulness with a Strength-Based and Narrative approach. Together, we can work towards unlocking your inner strengths and creating positive change in your life.
